I found this video on you tube…as it is shown…when I was searching about Syria. Anyway…I don’t know should we laugh or cry when no one knows where Syria is…which I believe is taking a huge part these days in media …since the assassination of prime Minster rafiq al-hariri …and the Iranian nuclear thing…is this ignorance from the west or should we wait for America to launch a war “Allah la y2der” so that everybody knows that such a country exist …!!

Finally, and after tons of hard work collecting and organizing, I’ve completed another installment of pictures of Syria in the picture gallery HERE

I’ve also re-categorized the albums, we now have historical, religious, misc, Aleppo and Damascus. I’m hoping that this collection will one day grow to be the definitive picture guide for Syria, so any contributions you may have, please feel free to sign up at the gallery and upload!
You can also tell me if you have any suggestions for improving or adding to the existing gallery.

The Aftermath - Relations between Syria and Lebanon

Right then, lets see…… Lebanese refugees….hmmm, in Syria…..haven’t seen that for a while….well, at least not since the civil war that we helped stop……and they’re ungrateful and whining after they get back home……oh bollocks, what have we done to upset them this time?

Apparently, it wasn’t enough that we set them up at our homes and schools, provided them with food, clothing, shelter even toys, raised funds for them, and devoted the entire red cross and red crescent volunteers to tend to their every need, and suffered and are still suffering from hours of blackouts because were giving away electricity to Lebanon.

Some people I know, even quit their work, traveled to Damascus to rent as many apartments as they could find, then went to the border to pick up any stranded families and take them to those apartments.

When the ceasefire came into effect last week, most Lebanese refugees went home….and then promptly started the verbal abuse and slander against Syria and Syrians. Saying things like “Syria is full of donkeys”, or “Syria is filthy and uncivilized”. Well that’s all just very super, it’s like having a guest leave your house, then as soon as he gets out, he pisses all over your porch and sets fire to your dog. Thank you Lebanon for all the P!

But to be fair, the majority of Lebanese, especially those hardest hit in the south, and who also happen to be the poorest and most downtrodden, actually appreciate Syria and all it’s done for them throughout the years. Those people, unfortunately, are the most marginalized, and least heard in Lebanese society. All we hear are the disgusting rantings of the absurdly “in bed with Israel” cedar-future cowards. That bumbling imbecile Hariri, who barley knows how to speak Arabic, let alone form a coherent sentence, or that old git Junblat who looks like he just escaped from a lunatic asylum.

We here in Syria still support, and will always support the free peoples of Lebanon, and the freedom fighters of Hezbollah…..those who have not sold their dignity, honor, ideals and beliefs for scraps, and bonds of servitude to their American and Israeli masters.

The Yellowman of Aleppo

Aleppo has been voted the Islamic capital of culture for the year 2006. Now, there are many reasons why that is, cleanliness and order are certainly not one of them, but a collection of freaks is.

Following is an account of the Yellowman of Aleppo. A marvelous tourist attraction, and a unique Syrian enigma.

Not much is known about the Yellowman, except that he wears yellow…all the time. Yellow socks, yellow cap, yellow shirt and pants, yellow moustache….he even has a yellow cell phone. Speculation as to the color of his underwear is rife…I suspect it’s yellow too. This mysterious anomaly started appearing in and around Aleppo’s Bab Faraj region about 25 years ago, where he still lives today, in a hotel. It’s not known what this man, well into his fifties, does for a living, but some say he’s actually a pimp. He’s been spotted at night, in the company of dubious looking women. so you could say he’s “da original Syrian pimpin”…..

As to the origin of his strange obsession, some say that he used to be an ordinary customs official, until succumbing to “The Daily Syrian Stress Cycle“.

Other cultural icons of the city include a man who thinks that he’s a mini cab! no, not a mini cab driver…a mini cab…he runs around the streets holding an imaginary steering wheel and honking an invisible horn, and even stops at traffic lights. There’s also a man who thinks he’s a traffic cop. He routinely whistles at cars and pedestrians, and writes imaginary traffic tickets on thin air!!!

The Daily Syrian Stress Cycle

Today recorded an unusually sharp rise in my normally “normal” stress levels due to unforeseen and unnecessary feuds with family and loved ones…oh yeah, and a series of trips to the market to buy some necessary items for my new house…

Of course, “normal” by Syrian standards is different from any other international “normal” standard….you see, here in Syria, we like do things differently…All this has put me in the mood to inflict yet another totally unnecessary article upon you…..following, is a typical account of the daily Syrian stress cycle….
